The band went straight into the writing mode and by years end was well on their way to having enough material for a CD and a live show.
The decision was made to begin the recording process so the tape started rolling. Yes tape! The entire CD titled "Made For Me" was recorded to analog tape which is a painstaking process but produces a wonderful sound that only tape can get. When the tracks were completed they were dumped into a digital work station for the final mix's. The CD was engineered, mixed and mastered in the rehearsal studio by one of the band members who is a self confessed gear-O-holic.
The art work so elegantly shot by Mr Scott Duvall of Fotografata was used throughout the CD and the duplication was complete in July of 2007. Along the way the band came up for an occasional breath to play several summer street parties, a few benefits and a primetime show on the main stage for the "Rockin Horse Ranch" music festival in southern Oregon. With the CD now complete Myra Lease will be returning to the stage in the fall of 2007.
What do they sound like? Hmm... Myra Lease is a blend of powerful female vocals and heavy melodic rock. Just imagine if Shirley Manson of Garbage, Amy Lee of Evanescence and Grace Slick climbed on the tour bus with Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Velvet Revolver!
The song writing ranges
from fantasy to deeper social and political issues with unabashed honesty
and no apologies. Be forewarned, the hooks are sticky and you’ll find
yourself singing them after the first listen!
From the opening cut “All the Queens Men” which is a commentary on social
phobia’s to the final transmission of “Far Away” which is about the
wonderment of life’s final journey, Myra Lease is truly unique.
